Our 2020 Christmas Appeal

Back in November last year we launched our Christmas Appeal, asking as many people as possible to help us fill 150 backpacks with winter essentials for our friends in Northern France.

We were absolutely blown away by the support we received from our community and thanks to so many people’s generosity we managed to smash our target and fill 150 backpacks! We also received sleeping bags, boots, waterproof jackets and so much more.

The van was packed ready for Alex to take to France but as we were closing the doors the news that the borders were being shut came in so we had to postpone our trip.

However, last week Alex managed to make his way through the testing and paperwork necessary and made an emergency trip to Calais.

The back of his van was full of our Christmas Appeal backpacks, sleeping bags and clothes. He wasn’t allowed to get out of the van so it involved a quick turnaround but our contacts on the ground in Calais told him they’re desperately short of items like those we provided and everything would be distributed very quickly.
